Sunscreen…

sunscreens

I don’t know if it’s an age thing but suddenly I am very aware of my wrinkles and how the sun seems to make them look and feel even worse.  Sunscreen is so important, and really we should be wearing factor 30 all year round to protect us from the harmful UVB’s, the ones that make our skin go red. However, we also need to protect our skin from the UVA rays which are just as bad as these go right down to the base of our skin causing wrinkles and pigmentation. Here is a round up of some of my favourites, they may not work for you, but these are the ones that I have found the best…

 1. Nuxe High Protection Sun cream SPF 30 £17

This feels more like a moisturiser than a sun block, meaning you wont mind wearing it everyday. This is brilliant for  anti ageing skin protection and at a good price.

2.L’Oreal Paris Solar Expertise Active Anti-Wrinkle & Brown Spot Matte Fluid Protection 20 SPF Medium 50ml

This stops you getting any more brown pigmentation and helps fade what is already there, it has a matte finish so doesn’t block your pores or make you look white and shiny. This is a good everyday one.

3. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Spf#55 Lotion 3oz

This is weightless and feels real clean on, it doesn’t block pores, it’s a good price and is a fantastic sun screen with a high SPF.

4. Boots No 7 Anti-Dark Spot Facial Sunblock SPF 50 £12

This is very effective on UVA, which is the cause of brown pigmentation and this stops it getting any darker. I have terrible brown pigmentation on my face since having the children so now will always wear something which prevents this getting worse.

5. La Roche Posay

Available in large Boots stores, the whole range is fabulous, it’s owned by L’oreal and have products for oily skin, combination skin and dry skin so you can choose one that is best for your skin type.

6. Bioderma Photoderm MAX Cream SPF 50+ 40ml

This is for skin that is allergic to the sun and is amazing if all other sunscreens have failed. Well worth a try if you or your children get rashes or have skin that is intolerant to the sun.

7. Murad Oil-Free Sunscreen SPF 30 £27

Finally a little more pricey, but definitely a range to try. The above Murad one is very hydrating so is very good for everyday. It’s a very good range.

Like I said these are what I have found good and would recommend, but there may be others that work well for you. Remember skin on your chest is particularly vulnerable so look after this like you would the skin on your face.
